  • Under the West Bengal Health Scheme, beneficiaries or their family members who need hospitalization or door remedies can receive up to Rs 20,000 per year, in accordance with the annual alignment. 
  • A beneficiary of the BM-SSY and the members of their family who contributed can make multiple claims in a year.
  • In the event of a surgical procedure, financial assistance may limited to Rs. 60,000 annually.
  • Let’s say that for any reason, the recipient ends up in the hospital for five or more days. In that scenario, the beneficiaries may get payment for their unemployment at the rate of Rs 1000 for the first five days and an additional amount of Rs 100 per day for the remaining days, up to a maximum of Rs 10,000. 

3. Death and Disability

  • The nominee may get up to Rs 20,000 in the event that the beneficiary passes away from a few accidents.
  • The nominee may receive Rs 50,000 in the event that the beneficiary passes away normally.
  • If a person loses all function in one or both eyes or if they are completely blind, they may be eligible for a reimbursement of Rs 2,000000.

4. Education

  • The beneficiaries’ kids may receive educational assistance. 
  • This scheme provides up to Rs. 25000 in financial assistance to the daughter upon completion of undergraduate studies or equivalent ability development research. 
  • The students who are qualified for the Swami Vivekananda benefit will no longer be qualified for the aforementioned benefits. 

5. Training in Safety and Skill Development

  • People can receive safety and talent development training through the Paschim Banga Society for Talent Development.
  • For the purpose of improving the ability of production workers and their households, construction workers may organize a fund for this training.

Social Security Scheme West Bengal: Account Maintenance 

The state government will bear all costs associated with the administration of the scheme, including the cost of various forms, stationery, bank service charges, etc.

  • All grants received from the state or central government or the beneficiaries of the scheme can placed in the fund.
  • The board will have to maintain a separate account for the purposes of the scheme and get the accounts audited by the auditor.
  • The state government is expected to obtain an annual report on the performance of the scheme and an audit report of the accounts.

BMSSY Card

The existing social security cards, registration numbers and passbooks issued to unorganized workers will be considered valid for the purposes of this scheme.

  • Existing unorganized workers who has registered under various schemes but have not received these cards will also be issued SMCs.
  • Workers in the unorganized sector can access these SMCs at any regional labor office in any district or sub-division and all Labor Welfare Facilitation Centers in blocks and towns.
